Terms of use

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Trapeza hasn't launched yet. These terms cover the website and waitlist today and the app when it launches. We'll update them before launch, tell waitlist members about any important change, and ask you to accept the app's terms when you create an account.

These terms are an agreement between you and Trapeza (“we”, “us”) about using the Trapeza website and app (the “service”). By joining the waitlist or using the service, you agree to them. Our Privacy policy and Consumer health data privacy policy explain how we handle your information.

Important: Trapeza isn't medical advice

Trapeza plans meals around the allergies, diets and preferences you tell it about. It is a planning tool, not medical or nutrition advice, and it doesn't replace advice from your doctor, allergist or dietitian.

Who can use Trapeza

You must be at least 18 and live in the United States to create an account. You may add other members of your household, including children, if you're allowed to share their information with us. You're responsible for activity on your account, so keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think someone else has used them.

The service

Trapeza creates weekly dinner plans and grocery lists. Recipes, quantities, prices and nutrition details are estimates provided for convenience and may contain errors. We may change, add or remove features, and we may limit how often the AI features can be used so the service stays reliable for everyone. If we ever charge for any part of Trapeza, we'll tell you the price and terms before you're charged, and you'll choose whether to pay.

Instacart

The “Shop on Instacart” button opens a shopping list on Instacart, a separate service with its own terms and privacy policy. Instacart, and the stores you choose there, handle product availability, substitutions, prices, delivery, payment and refunds. We aren't responsible for orders placed on Instacart. We may earn a commission when you shop on Instacart through Trapeza.

Using Trapeza fairly

Don't misuse the service. For example, don't break the law with it, try to access another household's data or our systems without permission, interfere with how it works, scrape it, resell it, or use it to create content that is harmful or that you don't have the right to share. If you see AI-generated content that seems wrong or harmful, please report it in the app or by email.

Your content and ideas

You keep ownership of what you enter into Trapeza. You allow us to use it only to provide and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy policy. Trapeza's software, design, recipes we provide and brand belong to us or our licensors. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Ending your account

You can stop using Trapeza and delete your account at any time, in the app or on the account deletion page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. When an account is deleted, we delete its data as our Privacy policy describes. The sections on disclaimers, liability, disputes and general terms continue to apply after your account ends.

Disclaimers

We work hard to make Trapeza useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that plans, recipes or grocery lists will be accurate, complete or suitable for your household's needs.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Trapeza. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or, where the law doesn't allow a limit, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Disputes

If you have a concern, please email us at support@trapeza.io first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it; most problems can be fixed that way. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Otherwise, claims must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your state of residence requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

If we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Trapeza after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using Trapeza and delete your account.

General

These terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them as part of a sale or merger of our business. You agree that we may send you notices about the service by email or in the app.
